There are a number of fabulous venues in our region, ranging from intimate spaces for small family farewells, to larger (sometimes rustic) rooms for much larger gatherings.
While there are too many to list here, many of our local community halls are available depending on day/time and we can certainly conduct funerals in any church or cemetery on the Peninsula, in Melbourne or even further afield if required.

Bunurong Memorial Park, set within contemporary Australian parkland and conveniently located midway between Melbourne and Mornington Peninsula, provides state-of-the-art function spaces for honouring and remembering your loved ones.
This purpose built, unique facility offers several non-denominational chapels where secular and non-secular services can be conducted with large private areas attached for families and friends to unite and share experiences over refreshments. Safety Beach Sailing Club
The new facilities at Safety Beach Sailing Club are among the best on the bay. The clubhouse is right on the foreshore with 180 degree views of the surrounding mountains of Arthur’s Seat and Mt Martha. Recent redevelopment works have increased the comfort aspects of this highly sought after venue which make it the perfect location for a celebration of life service.
Safety Beach Sailing Club is very well equipped to host funerals for meaningful farewells in familiar settings – ideal for beach and bay lovers alike.
Live Streaming and DVD recording of funerals held at Safety Beach Sailing Club provide family and friends who cannot attend the service, the opportunity to experience the event in this beautiful setting.
A Small Family Farewell, held at our premises in Dromana, provides an opportunity to farewell a loved one – either formally or informally – for a fraction of the cost of a traditional funeral.
Up to 15 people can gather to spend time with their person – with an open or closed coffin – in our private viewing room or well appointed lounge area, to say their good-byes before following our hearse to the crematorium or cemetery.

The Chapel at Tanglewood Estate
Nestled deep within the age old eucalyptus trees of Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, Tanglewood Estate is a gorgeous secret garden, set on more than 100 acres of bushland situated within the scenic landscape of Merricks North.
The relocated and renovated historic 110 year old wooden chapel, nestled among the trees, looks out over Port Phillip Bay.

The Tanglewood Estate Chapel is a beautiful venue for a peaceful and memorable end of life service for your loved one.

McCrae Yacht Club
McCrae Yacht Club, located at 690 Point Nepean Rd, McCrae offers yet another prime venue with expansive bay views – making it ideal for a wake or memorial.
The upstairs room has seating capacity for 90 with standing room on the outside deck for about 30 extra attendees. There is also scope for a marquee to be set up on the beautiful lawn area which would allow for a traditional funeral with a coffin present along with room for more attendees.

The club has a bar and kitchen for self catering, with a small lift for access to the upstairs room.
Blairgowrie Yacht Squadron
Blairgowrie Yacht Squadron is the perfect venue on the Southern Peninsula for holding a dignified farewell.
BYS can accommodate funeral attendees indoors and outdoors.
For families wishing to share their loved one's service online by utilising Live Streaming, this beautiful venue provides a suitable backdrop for a fitting tribute to anyone who has a love for the Mornington Peninsula, and most particularly for those with an affinity for the bay.
Mornington Bowling Club
Mornington Bowling Club has panoramic views of Port Phillip Bay with
first class facilities including a fully equipped kitchen and a serviced bar.

The function room is fully air conditioned/ heated, and can seat up to 120 people. In addition, the small lounge area has comfortable seating for those who choose to socially distance during the service.

We can recommend a caterer or you can make your own arrangements using their fully equipped kitchen.

The Peacock Estate
Chapel and Grounds
Situated in Tyabb just 15 mins from Mornington and close to Westernport Bay, The Peacock Estate is a unique venue shaped with nostalgia and crafted with rustic charm.
The Peacock Estate’s historical church was built in 1914 and features original pre-WW1 pressed tin walls. The stained-glass windows, original wooden floors and altar are just a few of the features in this stunning venue which is brimming with rustic appeal, history and charm.

The property has many features including an outdoor bar and food service area.
Hastings Bowling Club
The Hastings Bowling Club is a well appointed venue to hold family funerals or memorial services on the Westernport side of our beautiful Peninsula.
The staff and club members are most welcoming.
They have full kitchen and licensed bar facilities and can cater for up to 120 guests.
There's ample onsite parking and plenty of off street parking adjacent to the Club.

Room hire is quite affordable and even more so for members.
Deoro By The Bay
The Marina View Room at Deoro is a spacious, stylish and newly renovated function room with vaulted ceilings, offering a harmonious and relaxed atmosphere.
Deoro has; seating room for 150, full AV facilities, catering packages, bar facilities and barista coffee available.
This is a perfect space for families looking to celebrate the life of a loved one in a beautiful venue on the Westernport side of the Peninsula.
Mornington Golf Club
Their function venue has two rooms available, both with sweeping panoramic views of our golf course and Port Phillip, making a spectacular backdrop for any occasion.

Dromana Bowls Club
Dromana Bowls Club is our most local venue for small family funerals.
The club rooms can accommodate up to 90 attendees.
With a pleasant atmosphere, plenty of parking and bay views, it's an ideal alternative setting to farewell a loved one. Video recordings and live streaming available.
Rosebud Italian Club
Rosebud Italian Club is an ideal venue for large funerals.
The club was established in 1984, for the benefit of its members but also welcoming all guests.
Indoors, the club can easily accommodate 200 attendees.
With a pleasant atmosphere and plenty of parking, it's a suitable local setting to farewell a loved one – especially during these difficult times.

Mornington Civic Bowls Club
Situated in the heart of the peninsula, Mornington Civic Bowls & Social Club is particularly favoured by its superb location set in picturesque gardens away from the madding crowd.

The Clubhouse is available for funerals and can accommodate around 250 people with ample parking available.
There is a commercial kitchen along with licenced bar facilities.
Springvale Botanical Cemetery
The world-class Springvale Botanical Cemetery is widely regarded as Australia’s most beautiful cemetery, with 169 hectares (422 acres) of landscaped gardens. This facility offers a range of cremation, burial and mausoleam options to suit all personal, cultural and religious preferences with special areas to meet the needs of Melbourne's diverse and multicultural community.
Established in 1901, Springvale Botanical Cemetery has continued to offer generations a peaceful and private setting to celebrate the life of loved ones. The Southern Metropolitan Cemeteries Trust (SMCT) is a community based, not-for-profit organisation, committed to serving the needs of our communities.
The Ranelagh Club
Located off a quiet street in leafy Mt Eliza, The Ranelagh Club is the ideal "midway point" to cater for family and friends travelling from both Melbourne and the Southern Peninsula. The function room is perched high on the cliff, above a very isolated and private beach, featuring panoramic views across Port Phillip Bay and city skyline.
The venue has the capacity to usually hold 150 people and can be hired for an entire funeral with catering options to follow, or simply as a wake venue following your church/ chapel service.
Mornington Racecourse
Located less than one hour’s drive from Melbourne, the Mornington Racecourse is easily accessible from all major freeways and offers an abundance of free parking on site.With the capacity to hold more than 800 people for an indoor funeral, and many more outdoors, the Mornington Racecourse is the Peninsula’s most versatile space for large gatherings.
Red Hill Recreation Reserve
The large shed at Red Hill Recreation reserve is indeed rural and rustic but more affordable than other large venues.
It can hold some 600+ people inside with ample parking on site.

With the ability to hold a large number of attendees, this church is a perfect venue for very large funerals.
